Specialized in Securities Law, Banking Law and Corporate Finance transactions. Paolo advises clients, mainly institutional investors and banks, with regard to contractual and regulatory matters in relation to (i) corporate finance transactions, including M&A and ECM deals, (ii) company and corporate law, including restructurings and distressed debt, (iii) white collar crime, with emphasis on matters regarding Law Decree 213/2001.

Current and Past Experience

Paolo has worked in Stuttgart, Amsterdam, London and Milan for international law firms and as legal counsel for industrial holding companies, investment banks and central banks. In particular during 1996 Paolo has worked for the legal department of Daimler Benz AG, between 1997 and 1999 he has worked for the Milan office of Freshfields, in 1998 he has been self-seconded to the legal department of De Nederlandche Bank (Central Bank of Holland). Between 1999 and 2004 Paolo has headed the Legal and Compliance function for Lehman Brothers in Italy and between 2004 and 2005 he has headed the EMEA Control Group of Merrill Lynch. After a short stint as a freelance lawyer, between 2008 and 2009 he has been a Partner at Pedersoli e Associati in Milan. In 2009 Paolo joined the IURAPlus network.

Education

He graduated in law from the University of Bologna in 1996. In 1997 he obtained an “LL.M. in European Business Law” from the Pallas Consortium at the University of Nijmegen.
He is a member of the Bologna Bar Association. He speaks fluent English.
